Family Programs
(Holiday, Sibshops, Moms Night Out)
Holiday Programs
Nearly all children in the program have some degree of Jewish self-identity. Some have one parent who is Jewish, others both, all these families arrive at Friendship Circle with some need for cultural context, especially around the holidays. So, whether it's riding a horse and carriage at our Sukkah Hop, making real olive oil on Chanukah or fashioning a functional Shofar before Rosh Hashanah, Jewish Holiday Programs at the Friendship Circle offer a hard– to–find alternative to Santa, and uses holidays as a time for volunteers and their special friends to get together in a celebratory, culturally relevant context.
Sibshops
Children who have a brother or sister with special needs have needs of their own. We get siblings together to express the good - and maybe not so good feelings about having a member in their family with disabilities. We never leave out the fun, with art projects and games everyone has a great time.
Moms Night Out
When you combine the stresses of kids, parents, work and friends, the job of a mother today can at times seem overwhelming. That's why the Friendship Circle has devised a range of programs and special services just for them, giving these dedicated, noble moms a chance to unwind and relax.
