Shaping the future of friendship
Since 2003, the Bay Area Friendship Circle has been a pillar of support for the special needs community by providing friendship and opportunities for children, teens and young adults with special needs.
Today, you can be a partner and help further Bay Area Friendship Circle's mission of ensuring that individuals with special needs are included and recognized in social, recreational and vocational environments.
What is Legacy Giving?
Legacy giving (also known as planned giving) is a type of charitable donation that allows you to express your personal values by integrating your charitable, family and financial goals.
Planned gifts can be made with cash, but many planned gifts are made by donating assets such as stocks, real estate, art pieces or business interests, the possibilities are endless. Planned gifts can provide valuable tax benefits and/or lifetime income for you and your spouse or other loved ones.
The most frequently made planned gifts are bequests to charities made through your will. Other popular planned gifts include charitable trusts and charitable gift annuities.
Making a planned charitable gift usually requires the assistance of the charity’s development professional and/or a knowledgeable advisor such as an attorney, financial planner, or CPA to help structure the gift.
Who is Legacy Giving For?
Legacy Giving is for every person that would like to leave a gift that stands the test of time. You do not need to commit to giving thousands of dollars. Each year, thousands of Americans have given bequests through their wills, or have left a life insurance policy or a retirement plan to a nonprofit organization. All gifts that Friendship Circle receives are meaningful and greatly appreciated.
